In 2004, Avon set a target to reduce water consumption per thousand units produced by 10 percent (from 242.7 gallons/thousand units to 218.43 gallons/thousand units) by the end of 2008.
Status
In 2008, we reduced our total water consumption per unit produced by 21% from 2004 levels, more than double our 10% target. In addition, in 2008 we reduced total water consumed by 12% from 2004 levels on an absolute basis (from 553,883,000 gallons to 485,939,000 gallons). We continue to focus on management of water resources.
