Avon - The Company for Women - Corporate Responsibility

Governance & Management

We are committed to providing consistent, global oversight of the activities in our supply chain, with management in place at both the global and regional levels. In 2008, we strengthened supply-chain management with two new executive-level positions: Vice President, Non-Beauty Supply Chain Management and Director, Non-Beauty Quality and Product Safety, both functioning under the Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain. The newly created Director level oversees the company’s new Global Non-Beauty Quality and Product Safety organization, and together these executives are responsible for product safety and quality and compliance with laws and regulations governing the practices of Avon suppliers.

The first individuals to assume these two positions did so in May 2008 and July 2008, respectively, and in fall 2008 the new non-beauty quality and product safety organization was created. The Manager of Regional Quality and Safety, Europe Middle East Africa/Asia Pacific, and the Regional Regulatory and Technical Manager provide additional support. This division is responsible for the consistent implementation of our world-class product safety and regulatory policies, processes and procedures within our non-beauty supply chain.

In addition, we have a long-established monitoring group that oversees our beauty products suppliers. This group comprises executives from global supply chain and sourcing, on both global and regional levels, who are responsible for monitoring the practices of the beauty supply chain. At Avon, we are committed to adhering to the highest standards both in the company-owned facilities, which manufacture the majority of the beauty products, and in the facilities of our third-party suppliers, which produce a small percentage of these products.
